Frequently Asked Questions
No, we do not charge a fee to work with Seasonal Harvest.
As the term suggests, products come into and leave the Seasonal Harvest warehouse already boxed and labeled by the producer. We do not open or repackage boxes.
After delivering the product to the Seasonal Harvest distribution center, you submit an invoice via email, Quickbooks, or paper copy. Seasonal Harvest processes payments via ACH transfers, which are direct bank-to-bank payments, or, if you prefer, Seasonal Harvest can issue a paper check for the payment.
We will pay you within 30 days after we receive your invoice.
Every January, our general producer pricing is updated to remain competitive in the producer and customer wholesale markets. Prices are subject to change, and we will notify you when changes occur.
Most of our products are sold in bulk. If we have a need for a large number of products to be packaged individually, we pay an additional fee for bags and clamshells.
No, we do not require organic certification, but we do request organic practices. One of our core values is a focus on quality, and part of this is delivering clean foods to customers.
We are a wholesale product aggregator, and our primary customers are schools, community resource centers and pantries, and a local major sports team.
Seasonal Harvest sells whole and minimally processed foods, like fresh produce, cheese, some frozen meats, and a variety of shelf-stable products.
Seasonal Harvest is not a farm. As such, we do not grow our own food. We are a wholesale product aggregator and rely on our producers to supply products for our customers.
We deliver on a weekly basis, 52 weeks a year.
Seasonal Harvest does not set a minimum production amount. Each producer sets their own delivery minimums, which should account for the fact that we may not sell all of the products you list. Our goal is that each delivery made is profitable for your business.
We currently have about 35 farms and small businesses that sell through Seasonal Harvest. Some of these producers have a single product they sell until it is gone and some sell a variety of products throughout the year.
We currently work with producers in Shawano, Brown, Oconto, Door, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Outagamie, and Fond Du Lac counties, with future expansion goals.
We are dedicated to helping small farms get into the wholesale market. Part of that support can be farm visits, purchasing of packaging materials, or assistance with technical questions.
Product needs to be delivered by no later than 6 p.m. on Sunday. If you have crop damage or can’t make a delivery, we need to know as soon as possible so we can find substitute products.
Our cooler is open 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. A courtesy text message to let us know you are on your way is required so someone can be there to assist. If you need to make a delivery off-hours, we require you to text or call to schedule delivery as the distribution center is located on a family farm.
All products must be delivered to the Seasonal Harvest warehouse in appropriately sized, food grade packaging. This includes boxes, liners, bags, and clamshells. We cannot accept products packaged in non-standard materials. See our standards guide for a list of packaging by product type.
Seasonal Harvest purchases packaging in bulk to get the best discount. We offer packaging to our farms at cost, so producers can buy in smaller quantities.
Bags, liners, and clamshells can’t be reused. Boxes can be reused but must be clean and able to securely hold products.
We have clearly identified standards for product quality, uniformity, and packaging. Any product that falls short of these standards can be rejected at the time of delivery. If you have questions about whether your product meets these standards, we encourage a call ahead of time to avoid these problems.
To get started, you need to meet our producer requirements and submit a producer intake form. The next steps are meeting at our distribution center to complete an orientation and answer any questions.
