History

Seasonal Harvest began as an unexpected yet powerful collaboration between two people who shared a passion and vision for their local food system. When Sheri Howard and Darren Vollmar met, they recognized a growing need for a more efficient and cost-effective system to help farmers distribute their produce to the wholesale market.

In 2018, they launched Seasonal Harvest, an aggregation service designed to pool products from multiple small farms, reduce costs, and provide consistent access to fresh, local products for schools, businesses, and other customers.

Darren’s family farm, Ledgeview Gardens, became the hub where farmers brought their freshly harvested, washed, packaged, and labeled produce. From there, Seasonal Harvest took care of the rest.

Today, Seasonal Harvest works with over 35 producers and serves a growing list of customers across the region, operating 52 weeks a year. Sheri and Darren have also grown their team, welcoming Bridget Gerondale as the Sales and Operations Specialist.

From the very beginning, the company’s mission wasn’t just about business. It has always been about making a real impact on the local food system and supporting the producers who make it all possible. Seasonal Harvest fulfills orders from the smallest farms first, provides unending support for their producers, and offers fair prices to ensure that their producers can grow sustainable businesses.

The Seasonal Harvest team is passionate about bringing fresh, clean, locally sourced food to Wisconsin communities—strengthening small producers and creating healthier people, one vegetable at a time.
